Mark Lindblom is a cartoonist, illustrator, and editor based in Washington, DC. Originally from Wisconsin, he came up in broadcasting, working in nonprofit media with organizations including NPR, PBS, and C-SPAN, before trading the airwaves for ink and paper and planting roots in the DC arts community.
Mark is the current editor of Magic Bullet, Washington DC's free comics newspaper produced by D.C. Conspiracy, the city's long-running cartoonist collective. Published twice a year and distributed throughout the DC area, Magic Bullet showcases the work of local cartoonists, artists, and writers. This fall, the paper celebrates a milestone: its 25th issue. Mark has been a steady contributor alongside his editorial work, bringing a historical sensibility to his comics; digging into the stories, characters, and corners of DC that don't always make the official record.
D.C. Conspiracy has been building community for roughly two decades, and Mark's work within it reflects a belief that local publishing is its own form of civic practice: a way of documenting place, connecting creators, and keeping the conversation going at street level.
